Summary

This first lesson in CAD and Fusion 360 covered:

  1. Navigating the Fusion 360 interface and Design workbench
  2. Creating and constraining sketches
  3. Extruding sketches to form solids
  4. A smattering of keyboard shortcuts for speeding up work
  5. The Fusion 360 timeline and editing existing features
  6. Applying physical materials to a body
  7. Projecting parts of 3D geometry into a 2D sketch plane
  8. Using circular patterns to duplicate features around an axis
  9. Applying fillets and chamfers to round off edges

Exercises

Here are some practice designs to replicate in Fusion 360 and here are the solutions. We’ll go over a couple more of these in the second week, but not all of them, so feel free to get some practice in!
